B. Early life to death
Kublai Khan was born on September the 23th, 1215 and died February the 18th, 1294. He was born in Mongolia, and the second son of Tolui and Sorghaghtani Beki, and the grandson of Genghis Khan. When he was 9, his grandfather took him and his brother hunting at Lli River. His brother killed a rabbit and an antelope. The fat was spread of Kublai’s middle finger in accordance with a Mongol tradition. In his middle years, Kublai Khan sent troops and conquered all of China. He founded the Yuan Dynasty in 1271 when he took over the throne by defeating Mongke and Arigh Boki, Kublai’s brothers. He ruled China for about 30 years before revolts broke out and the Mongol empire shrunk and fell. Mongolian invasions failed to take over Java and Japan. Kublai Khan died in 1294 and a series of weak rulers followed him. Countries began to make their own civilizations using their traditions and culture. In China, the Chinese wanted to rule their own dynasty and the Mongols were driven out of China.
